Sarah Shungru

Developmental Educator, Counsellor,
Special Education Teacher

Sarah is a registered Developmental Educator (DE), paediatric counsellor and Special Education Teacher in Southern Adelaide, South Australia. She has been working in the paediatric space since 2014. Sarah has experience working within government and non-government organisations including schools, clinics, communities,  higher education facilities, and homes.

Sarah has experience working with children and adolescence aged from 4 to 23 years of age across a range of environments. She also has a small caseload of adults who feel as though the support she offers is the best fit for them. She prides herself on developing individualised support options that focus on the achievement of meaningful, targeted goals. She enjoys working with others stakeholders within an individuals therapy team to provide holistic support. Sarah also provides support and training to important people in a child's life to assist them to provide better support, access, inclusion and quality of life. One of Sarah's main aims when supporting a child and their family is to provide strong advocacy to ensure that the child is able to access all life experiences on the same basis as their peers - this includes access to education, recreational and social environments, employment and community experiences. Sarah also understands the busy juggle of family life and is the mum of three young, busy boys. For support to be successful it needs to work around your family and fit into your life.
